It was the highlight of our trip.... read more I looked at a lot of boats and chose this one as it seemed to be a nice choice for the price. It also had some features that others did not including a shorter drive time back and forth to Hanoi. The drive is about 2.5 hours each way with a short stop. This boat also goes to Ha Lan bay to overnight instead of Halong Bay (although you do go thru part of Halong Bay to get to Ha Lan bay) which is less crowded making it very peaceful at night. Our excursions were a bike ride on Cat Ba Island the first day and kayak trip on the second morning. Both were nice choices with our boat being the only people in the area. Our guide was Mr Lucky. He is a super nice guy that really enjoys his job. He spoke very good English and was with us from pick up to drop off. The food was plentiful and good. The rooms all seemed nice. We booked the suite at the end of the boat which was huge. The bed was super comfortable. The only bummer about our suite was the fact the small boat that takes you back and forth to the port is parked there kind of obstructing the view to the bay from the room. The side view was very nice though. The drinks on board were not over priced. I even found a decent red wine to drink. My only comment on the drinks is to keep the coffee and tea going on the second morning for those that choose to do the kayak tour. We had to hunt someone down to get a coffee and tea when we returned, and we had to pay for it. Other than that I have only positive things to say and highly recommend this area and this cruise line in particular. …
